Job summary

Express Employment is seeking an Assistant Machine/Mill Operator for a fast-paced production environment. The role supports the Machine Operator II, assists with training, and may assume supervisory duties when needed.

Ideal candidates demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining safety standards across the plant floor.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience in a manufacturing or food production environment.
• Basic math and computer skills.
• Forklift operation experience.
• Ability to follow written/verbal instructions and safety procedures.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and work in dusty areas.

Responsibilities

• Maintain high sanitation standards in assigned work areas.
• Operate and maintain production equipment as needed.
• Load/unload tandem trucks at elevator and storage sites.
• Assist in training team members and learning Operator II duties.
• Monitor grain handling equipment and storage site bin levels.
• Bag sunflower products in 25–50 lb bags on a continuous basis.
• Operate forklifts safely and efficiently.
• Complete required paperwork accurately and on time.
• Uphold personal and environmental safety standards.
• Communicate clearly across departments and management.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Operator II.
