Job Title: Assistant Operator / Extrusion Technician

Schedule: 5:45AM - 6:00PM Rotating 2-2-3 Schedule

Location: Grand Rapids, MI

Job Description

The Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the production team by providing administrative assistance, maintaining a clean work environment, and assisting with various production tasks. Responsibilities include handling finished products, conducting basic quality testing, assisting operators and technicians, and ensuring all shift-end paperwork is completed. The role requires following all safety and quality policies, including BRC, GMP, and PPE standards.

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
• Adhere to BRC, GMP, and PPE policies to ensure compliance.
• Keep the work area clean and organized.
• Properly dispose of waste materials.
• Perform basic quality tests and record results accurately.
• Assist with quality control inspections and audits.
• Read and understand work orders to execute tasks accurately.
• Verify equipment settings align with specifications.
• Perform roll changes and manage finished product sampling.
• Prepare packaging supplies and labels following instructions.
• Handle and store finished products properly.
• Monitor material shortages and respond promptly.
• Support resin level maintenance and line operation.
• Assist with start-up and shutdown procedures, including setup tasks.
