We are seeking an Assistant Operations Manager for our Virginia Beach shop.

The Assistant Operations Manager supports the planning, directing, and coordination of the company's roofing operations. This role is responsible for assisting in enhancing performance, productivity, efficiency, safety, and profitability of all roofing activities through effective methods and strategies.

Job Functions:

• Assist in developing schedules and oversee all aspects of construction.
• Communicate directives to Superintendents and Foremen for successful contract completion.
• Support quality control and safety management on projects.
• Review purchase orders, contracts, and proposals to verify scope and adherence to company policies.
• Assist in project management tasks, including scheduling, production, and quality control.
• Support material procurement and maintain inventory, monitoring costs to increase revenue.
• Provide leadership support for the roofing department, fostering teamwork, motivation, and positive employee relations.
• Assist in preparing budgets and capital expenditure requests.
• Coordinate with prime and subcontractors throughout project phases, including schedules and change orders.
• Address customer inquiries, complaints, and requests; perform field inspections as needed.
• Facilitate communication between the department and accounting.
• Liaise with top management to develop and implement operational strategies.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Minimum three years of experience in the commercial roofing industry, focusing on customer relations, materials, techniques, and requirements.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred but not required.
• Strong planning, organization, team-building, problem-solving, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
• High attention to detail.
• Proficiency in computer applications such as Microsoft Office Suite and internet navigation.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to perform calculations related to discounts and interest.
