Backpack Healthcare is redefining pediatric behavioral health through high-quality virtual care. We’re hiring a Practice Manager to support a team of clinicians with performance coaching, caseload optimization, and workflow oversight.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the direct administrative manager for a group of clinicians — driving accountability, engagement, and outcomes

  • Coordinate schedules, time-off, and availability to ensure balanced caseloads and appointment access

  • Track KPIs including documentation timeliness, visit volume, no-shows, and billing compliance

  • Conduct regular 1:1s to review performance, coach on time management, and support team success

  • Partner with Clinical Education to support onboarding and supervision milestones for residents/fellows

  • Identify and address attendance or workflow challenges with empathy and professionalism

  • Collaborate with scheduling, credentialing, and patient access to maintain licensure and availability accuracy

  • Support grant-funded initiatives and ensure clinician compliance with related staffing/documentation goals

  • Participate in staffing meetings, policy updates, and initiatives to drive clinician satisfaction and retention

  • Lead performance conversations, initiate PIPs as needed, and advocate for your team using data and insight
  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Psychology, Social Work, Business, or a related field

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in practice management, healthcare operations, or provider support

  • Demonstrated ability to manage people — including holding others accountable while maintaining trust and psychological safety

  • High emotional intelligence and communication skills; able to coach with empathy while ensuring standards are met

  • Strong time management and operational thinking; highly organized and comfortable with spreadsheets, dashboards, and process optimization

  • Familiarity with EHR systems, provider schedules, billing cycles, and healthcare compliance standards

  • Experience working in a fast-paced, remote, or tech-enabled environment
  • Prior experience supporting behavioral health clinicians, especially in virtual or school-based models

  • Familiarity with grant-funded programs, Medicaid/MCO documentation, or clinical residency programs

  • Comfort leading teams in a remote setting using tools like Zoom, Slack, Google Workspace, and shared dashboards

  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus

  • This is a fully remote role with some flexibility needed for team meetings across Eastern time zones
  • Fully remote work with flexible scheduling

  • Mission-driven team focused on youth and family behavioral health

  • Collaborative, growth-focused environment

  • Rapidly expanding organization with advancement opportunities
