Job Description
The Assistant Operations Manager provides training, instruction, and guidance to subordinate employees to ensure their knowledge of company products, fabrication and assembly methods, management skills, and the effective use of accepted work processes and standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage all documents related to Productivity, Quality, Efficiency, and equipment for daily use.
- Manage associates in a safe environment and ensure compliance with all safety regulations concerning equipment.
- Manage the overall 5S program.
- Promote the highest safety, quality, and productivity standards.
- Manage, maintain, and develop subordinate efficiencies and understanding of essential functions.
- Oversee safety, quality, and productivity management.
- Implement improvements as needed.
- Communicate process changes, quality alerts, or relevant information to associates to ensure high-quality and efficient work.
- Manage headcount to meet production goals.
- Complete and report documentation related to safety, quality, productivity, training, and associates.
- Train and develop personnel.
- Perform performance evaluations as needed.
- Train and develop team leaders to serve as backups for Group Leaders.
- Serve as a backup for team leaders.
- Handle countermeasures related to logistics issues.
- Maintain inventory and shipping, preventing short shipments.
- Assist supervisors, team leaders, and line support team members.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- 3-5 years of logistics leadership experience in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong knowledge of quality standards, regulations, and best practices, specifically ISO 9001.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Excellent verbal, interpersonal, communication, and training skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Other Requirements
- Use of cell phone and two-way radio.
Educational Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent; 2 years or more of college.
Work Schedule
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
