Job Responsibilities

• Conduct individualized nutrition assessments for WIC program eligibility, including health history, dietary recall, anthropometrics, biochemical data, risk evaluation, and referral screening. Prescribe tailored WIC food packages and document using SOAP notes. Provide follow-up for low-risk participants.
• Develop, deliver, and evaluate nutrition education, training, and counseling. Refer low-risk participants to web-based education.
• Promote and support breastfeeding, screen participants, refer to care levels, and monitor supplies.
• Provide formula education and support, monitor contracts and special formulas, and refer complex cases to a Registered Dietitian.
• Participate in a multidisciplinary WIC team for clinic scheduling, caseload monitoring, and outreach.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

State Minimum: Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as home economics, dietetics, or nutrition-related programs.

Agency Additional Requirements: Accepts BSc/BA in Human Nutrition, Family and Consumer Sciences, or related degrees, or an associate degree with two years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of maternal, infant, and child nutrition principles.

Additional Comments
