Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager – Operating Room (OR) to support the daily clinical and operational functions of a General Operating Room. This role provides leadership to OR nursing staff, supports patient flow and staffing, promotes regulatory readiness, and serves as a clinical and operational resource across surgical specialties.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily operating room operations, patient flow, and staffing coverage.
• Lead, coach, mentor, and develop OR nursing staff to promote strong performance, teamwork, and engagement.
• Support a continuous state of readiness for regulatory, accreditation, and quality surveys.
• Identify and implement initiatives to improve patient satisfaction, quality outcomes, workflow, and departmental efficiency.
• Support the Nurse Manager with administrative responsibilities, including scheduling, reporting, and other operational activities.
• Serve as a clinical and operational resource for the surgical team across multiple specialty services.
• Promote a culture of patient safety, accountability, collaboration, and professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
• Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
• Minimum 2 years of Operating Room nursing experience required.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing leadership experience required.
• Strong communication, leadership, staff development, organization, and operational decision‑making skills.
