Job summary

UNC Health Appalachian is seeking an Assistant Nurse Manager (RN) for the IMCU to lead daily operations and support nursing staff in delivering safe, high-quality care for intermediate-acuity patients.

You will collaborate with the ACNO, Nurse Manager, physicians, and nursing staff to ensure effective care coordination, staff development, and adherence to standards. This role combines clinical nursing expertise with frontline leadership in a dynamic hospital setting.

Qualifications

• RN leadership and supervisory skills.
• Ability to coordinate staffing and clinical operations.
• Proven nursing leadership in IMCU or similar unit.
• Understanding of nursing practice acts and regulatory standards.
• Experience with patient safety and quality initiatives.
• Strong communication with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of the IMCU under ACNO and Nurse Manager.
• Coordinate staff assignments, scheduling, and workflow.
• Provide clinical leadership for intermediate-acuity patients.
