UR Medicine Thompson Health in Canandaigua, NY seeks an Assistant Nurse Manager for a Monday–Friday schedule with one weekend every five weeks. The role supports the Nurse Manager in daily operations at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center, a 5-star long-term care facility.

Compensation ranges from $90,000 to $100,000 per year, based on experience. Ideal candidates hold a NYS RN license, with 2 years of long-term care experience preferred, and strong assessment and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Works closely with Nurse Manager to manage daily operations.
• Performs, supervises or assists with resident assessments and documentation.
• Conducts weekly skin assessments and PRN as indicated.
• Ensures quality care through QI mentors, rounds and chart reviews.
• Precepts nursing personnel and serves as a clinical resource to CNAs and LPNs.
• Assists in developing nursing staff and ensuring care plans are followed.
• Monitors adherence to resident care plans and coordinates clinical care.

Primarily Monday-Friday position with 1 weekend out of 5 required

Key Responsibilities

• Works closely with Nurse Manager to manage the daily operations of the Avenue
• Performs, supervises or assists with resident assessments and documentation
• Perform skin assessments weekly and PRN on indicated residents
• Assists with assuring that quality care is provided through QI Mentors, rounds, chart reviews, etc.
• Participates with precepting of nursing personnel
• Serves as clinical resource person to CNAs, LPNs and other associates
• Assist with development of nursing and other associates
• Monitors nursing personnel compliance with resident care plans
• Coordinates clinical care of residents with nursing personnel
• Assures that physician orders are carried out and integrated into resident care plans
• Continually enhances clinical knowledge in long term care and shares information as appropriate
• Responsible for creating a culture of accountability within the framework of a positive work environment

Qualifications
