Bass Pro Shops in Springfield, MO seeks an Assistant Merchant II to support category planning and execution under the Merchandiser. The role involves assortment selection, pricing, and cross-functional collaboration to drive sales and inventory strategies.

The position focuses on analytics, vendor relations, and development of proprietary product, with opportunities to grow in a multi-store, omni-channel retail environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
• Preferred Degree: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Product Development, Merchandising
• Experience in multi-store and omni channel retail. Merchandising, Supply Chain, and/or Marketing experience.
• Years of experience: 2+ years

Responsibilities

• Analyzes historical data, current trends, and competitor pricing, to identify opportunities, forecast sales, and inventory to develop strategies to maximize opportunity and mitigate risk.
• Selects vendor and/or category assortments and negotiations.
• Assists the merchant in the preparation of financial plans and business strategy.
• Communicates effectively with cross-functional team and vendors partners.
• Balances workload priorities to ensure successful execution of business initiatives.
• Assists in the development of Proprietary Product, identifying market trends, and developing product and price structure.
• Assists Merchant and Product Development team with product specifications, sourcing, forecasting, and marketing strategies.
• Owns an element of the on-boarding/training process for new hires.
• ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.
