Job summary

Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, is seeking a part-time Assistant Men's Tennis Coach to support a growing Division III program. Responsibilities include on-court coaching, assisting with travel, data collection, and ensuring a positive team culture.

Minimum bachelor’s degree; master’s preferred. Coaching and high-level collegiate playing experience desired. Must have First Aid/CPR/AED training and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of a rapidly growing Division III Tennis program.
• On-court coaching in both practices and matches.
• Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and institution as well as the rules and regulations of the MAC, MAC Freedom, the NCAA, and other authorities that may influence the intercollegiate athletics program.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and participate in available professional development opportunities.
• Assist the head coach with travel arrangements including lodging, meals, team practices, and meetings when appropriate.
• Compile data and reports in a timely fashion when requested by the head coach or any senior-level administrator.

Reports to: Head Men's Tennis Coach

Essential Responsibilities:

• Assist the head coach in managing all aspects of a rapidly growing Division III Tennis program. The top priority must be the overall collegiate experience of the student-athlete and a dedication to promoting a positive and healthy team culture that encourages growth and development.
• On-court coaching in both practices and matches.
• Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures of the department and institution as well as the rules and regulations of the Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC), MAC Freedom, the NCAA, and other authorities that may legitimately influence the intercollegiate athletics program.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
• Complete all required departmental and institutional training and certification programs and participate in available professional development opportunities.
• Assist the head coach with travel arrangements including lodging, meals, team practices, and meetings when appropriate.
• Compile data and reports in a timely fashion when requested by the head coach or any senior-level administrator.

This range represents the University's good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
