Job summary

Emerson College is seeking an assistant coach to support the head coach in organizing and conducting training and matches. The role includes guiding practice sessions, coordinating schedules, and representing the athletics program to both internal and external stakeholders.

You will mentor student‑athletes, help develop technical and tactical skills, analyze performance, and assist with recruiting activities. Travel, nights, and weekends are required for match days.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• 0 - 2 years of coaching experience at the post-secondary level, professional competitive experience or college playing experience required.
• A valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist head coach in organizing, preparing, and conducting individual and team training and match competition.
• Assist in monitoring, and coordinating training and practice sessions.
• Represents Emerson College and the athletic department to media, students, parents, and the public.
• Assist with coaching strategies and teaching methods to develop players' technical ability and team tactical solutions.
• Analyze the performance of the team, players and opponents.
• Mentor student‑athletes to foster athletic, academic, emotional and social growth.
• Assist in coordinating and organizing potential player on-campus visits.
• Assist in recruitment and retention of prospective student athletes.
