Job summary

KnitWell Group, operating White House Black Market (WHBM) at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, NJ, is seeking an Assistant Manager to help lead the team and deliver exceptional customer service.

The role involves assisting the Store Manager, driving sales, coaching associates, and maintaining brand standards in a fast-paced retail environment. Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.

Responsibilities

• Build, lead, and develop a team to deliver a customer-centered experience.
• Take ownership to achieve the financial goals of the store and motivate the team.

• Take ownership to ensure safe and efficient store operations including inventory management, daily replenishment of floor merchandise, and execution of inventories.
• Ensure compliance with all policies, guidelines, and business practices.
• Build community connections through in-store company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.

About the role

As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. • Must be at least 18 years old.
• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products as well as maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
