Job summary

White House Black Market in Wayne, NJ is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Store Manager in leading the team and delivering a personalized, hospitality-driven shopping experience. You will develop associates, drive sales, manage operations, and foster community partnerships while upholding brand standards and a welcoming environment.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

About The Role

As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. This position helps foster a welcoming environment—for both associates and customers—that enables us to create memorable, personalized experiences that reflect our culture of hospitality.

You'll bring to the role

• Passion for our brand, fashion, and empowering confidence.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products as well as maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
