Manager Trainees gain knowledge and experience required for promotion to management positions under the direction of experienced personnel. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: customer sales and service in the store, directing customers, answering telephones, providing product descriptions, proposing add-on sales to customers, checking and retrieving merchandise from storage areas, cleaning, restocking, and organizing merchandise on the sales floor. This entry-level position is designed to be transitory, generally lasting 6-18 months before promotion to the next level. A well-defined training program will be provided to develop your path into a management position. Openings are typically filled by enthusiastic, energetic, sports-minded individuals with solid customer service backgrounds and relevant educational paths. Enthusiasm for our products is essential. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.

Responsibilities:

• Successful operation of store in the absence of the Store Manager
• Driving sales
• Opening and closing of the store
• Overseeing footwear, advertising programs, and other departments
• Performing customer sales and service
• Merchandising and ensuring compliance with company policies
• Answering customer inquiries via telephone
• Setting promotional signage and other duties as assigned
• Enforcing all company policies
• Coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees as needed
• Learning and providing product descriptions
• Proposing add-on sales
• Checking and retrieving merchandise from storage areas
• Organizing, restocking, and cleaning merchandise on the sales floor
• Inventory control and loss prevention enforcement

Requirements:

• Must be 21 years of age or older
• High School diploma, GED, or relevant experience required
• Basic organizational and math skills
• Subject to E-Verify upon accepting the position
• Light to moderate lifting may be required, with or without reasonable accommodation
• Effective communication and interactive skills

California pay scale: $16.65 - $19.50/hour depending on store location.
