Manager Trainees gain knowledge and experience necessary for promotion to management under the guidance of experienced personnel. Responsibilities include customer sales and service, directing customers, answering phones, providing product descriptions, proposing add-on sales, managing merchandise, cleaning, restocking, and organizing the sales floor. This entry-level role is designed to be transitional, typically lasting 6-18 months before promotion, supported by a comprehensive training program aimed at developing into management.

Responsibilities

• Operate the store successfully in the absence of the Store Manager
• Drive sales
• Open and close the store
• Oversee footwear, advertising programs, and other departments
• Perform customer sales and service
• Ensure merchandising and policy compliance
• Handle customer inquiries via phone
• Set promotional signage and perform other duties as assigned
• Enforce company policies
• Coach, counsel, and discipline employees as needed
• Learn and communicate product descriptions
• Propose add-on sales
• Manage merchandise from storage and organize the sales floor
• Control inventory and enforce loss prevention policies

Requirements

• Must be 21 years or older
• High School diploma, GED, or relevant experience required
• Basic organizational and math skills
• Subject to E-Verify upon accepting the position
• Ability to lift light to moderate loads, with accommodations if necessary
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills

California pay scale ranges from $16.65 to $19.50 per hour, depending on location.
