Overview

The Assistant Store Manager assists in the management of the retail facility. The Assistant Store Manager should know the necessary aspects of store operation and act as the Store Manager in their absence, on a short-term basis.

Duties And Responsibilities

1. Support the "Cavender's Culture" and drive our Mission, Vision, and Values
2. Assist in the management of the retail store and the supervision of store associates
3. Know necessary aspects of store operation and act as the Store Manager in their absence
4. Assist in the day-to-day operation of the store
5. Assist in the training of new store associates
6. Assist in the preparation of store reports
7. Maintain awareness of safety/security issues and report any accidents or incidents occurring during the Store Manager's absence
8. Understand and implement company policies and procedures
9. Assist in efforts to increase sales, maintain profit, and reduce controllable expenses
10. Open and close the store as directed
11. Assist in performing daily check-ups and making bank deposits
12. Assist in maintaining store appearance and staff appearance
13. Assist in maintaining records and files
14. Review and correct timecard exceptions and missed punches, and approve payroll
15. Assist in shrinkage control through preventative measures and legal prosecution when possible
16. Assist in resolving personnel and customer problems and complaints
17. Perform other duties usual in the retail apparel/footwear industry
18. Assist store manager with miscellaneous duties as assigned
19. Understand all reports generated by the home office and coach associates to ensure compliance with goals (e.g., ADS, UPTs, Payroll, Refunds, Turnover)
