Job summary

Hibbett I City Gear in Cleveland, MS, seeks an Assistant Manager to support daily store operations under the Store Manager. You will assist in selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling while upholding store policies and driving excellent customer service.

The role requires knowledge of product areas, leadership in the absence of the Store Manager, and training responsibilities. This position is hourly and non-exempt, reporting to the Store Manager.

Qualifications

• Experience in a retail environment, preferably footwear/apparel.
• 1–3 years of customer service experience.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player with selling and service focus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Store Manager in controlling store assets.
• Establish action plans for selling, restocking, merchandising, ordering, and scheduling.
• Step in as acting manager in the Store Manager's absence.
• Help recruit, train, and evaluate store personnel.
• Provide guidance to employees and customers across departments.
• Monitor inventory, sales statistics, and expenses to ensure profitability.
• Direct staff to meet department responsibilities and standards.
• Maintain outstanding customer service per manuals and policies.
• Promote and sell services and merchandise offered by the store.
