Job summary

Subway is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to oversee day-to-day restaurant operations under the General Manager. This entry-level management role focuses on supervising non-management staff, coaching, staffing, and ensuring service standards.

The role emphasizes schedule management, customer service, food safety, and adherence to company policies, with opportunities to learn management skills and advance within the Subway system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A minimum of two (2) years in a restaurant environment, experience in supervising and training staff.
• Ability to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends and holidays to meet the needs of the business.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
• Must have the ability to work any area of the restaurant when needed and to operate a computerized Point of Sale system/cash register (cashier).
• Position requires bending, standing, and walking the entire workday.
• Must have the ability to lift 10 pounds frequently and up to 30 pounds occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Completes and posts staff work schedules.
• Communicates changes of food preparation formulas, standards, etc. to staff
• Ensures that all local and national health and food safety codes are maintained, and company safety and security policy are followed.
• Maintains business records as outlined in the Subway® Operations Manual:
• Daily Procedures. Analyzes business records to increase sales.
• Supports local and national marketing initiatives.
• Identifies and contacts prospective customers to promote sales.
• Plans special events and promotions.
• Completes University of Subway® courses as directed.
