Job summary

Eyeglass World, part of National Vision, is seeking an Assistant Manager in Lafayette, IN to lead daily operations, drive sales and deliver outstanding customer service. You will supervise optical sales staff, coordinate with doctors, and ensure promotions and merchandising are executed while maintaining Ready When Promised standards.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience; supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to lead, coach and build relationships.
• Understanding of store operations and standards for success.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and monitoring progress.
• Ability to analyze and interpret financial reports.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Drive profit, sales and performance goals according to National Vision standards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted targets.
• Ensure all store associates deliver high levels of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same day service using the Ready When Promised board.
• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting.
• Develop and maintain relationships with doctors and act as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and understood by staff and doctors.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensure daily tasks are completed.
• Assist the General Manager with staffing, recruitment and retention of a high-caliber team.
• Motivate staff to exceed performance standards.

Job Description

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Communicate with the General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.

• Strong organizational skills for planning work and continuously monitoring progress towards goals.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.
