Job summary

National Vision's Eyeglass World is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead daily store operations, motivate a team, and deliver quality eye care and a premier shopping experience.

You will drive sales, manage promotions, coordinate with doctors, and ensure a high standard of customer service while balancing staffing to match store volume.

Qualifications

• Optical sales experience; supervising experience preferred.
• Proven ability to lead, coach and build associate relationships.
• Understanding of store operations and success standards.
• Strong oral and written communication for effective team management.
• Clear, concise information presentation and question handling.
• Strong organizational skills for planning and progress tracking.
• Ability to analyze, create and understand financial reports.
• Proven ability to analyze and solve problems of varied scope.

Responsibilities

• Drive profit, sales and performance goals per National Vision standards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted figures.
• Ensure store associates deliver the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same-day service using Ready When Promised board.
• Communicate with General Manager, District Manager, and Corporate Office; provide store reports.
• Develop and maintain relations with doctors; liaison between doctor and store.
• Ensure promotions, advertising and visual merchandising are in place.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensure daily tasks are completed.
• Assist GM with staffing decisions and retention of high-caliber staff.

Job Description

What would you do? – The Specifics

• Drive and achieve profit, sales and performance goals according to National Visionstandards.
• Monitor sales results against budgeted.
• Ensure all store associates achieve and maintain the highest level of customer service.
• Maintain awareness of same day service using “Ready When Promised” production board.
• Communicate with the General Manger, District Manager, and Corporate Office and provide store reporting as required.
• Develop and maintain a good working relationship with doctor(s) associated with the store and serves as liaison between doctor and store personnel.
• Ensure store promotions, advertising, and visual merchandising are in place and all associates and doctors are aware of current promotions.
• Supervise and motivate Optician/Sales Associates and ensures the timely completion of day-to-day functions.
• Assist the General Manager with balancing staffing to store volume. Assist in recruiting, selecting and retaining a high caliber staff.
• Motivate associates to exceed performance standards.
• In some locations, state laws require certain responsibilities to be performed by individuals with specific licenses or credentials. Job duties and work practices may vary to meet these requirements.
