Job Description: The University of Florida Veterinary Hospitals is recruiting for an Operations Assistant Manager to support the operations within the Small Animal Hospital in Gainesville, FL. The Assistant Manager works closely with hospital leadership, clinical services, facilities personnel, and external partners to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment that supports exceptional patient care.
Primary responsibilities include oversight of Small Animal Hospital assistants, facilities, infrastructure, and grounds; coordination of maintenance and repair activities; management of facilities related projects; and support of regulatory compliance, safety, and infection control initiatives. In addition, the Assistant Manager assists with purchasing, invoice approval, budget tracking, financial reporting, and recommendations related to operational and facilities expenditures.
Critical competencies for this position include analytical thinking, personnel management, excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and the capacity to effectively plan, prioritize, and manage multiple responsibilities. This position requires a post-offer health assessment and background check.
