Job summary

World Market in San Diego is seeking an Assistant Manager to drive sales, profitability, and a customer-first selling culture. You will partner with the Store Manager to lead a high-performance team while upholding our brand, policies, and store standards.

You will oversee Customer Experience, Freight Flow, Operations and Merchandising as needed, with responsibilities in daily tasks, coaching, and team development aligned to our values.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience in a fast-paced specialty retail environment preferred.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
• Strong customer-focus and operational excellence leading to sales growth.

Responsibilities

• Model and lead a customer-first selling culture by driving engagement, loyalty initiatives, visual standards and brand values.
• Analyze business trends using available reporting to identify opportunities and take action.
• Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performance team aligned with company values.
• Plan for and execute daily tasks and duties in the Store Manager’s absence.
• Lead and develop associates through training, recognition, and performance management.
• Maintain loss prevention policies and inventory controls; support safety initiatives.
