El Pollo Loco in California is seeking an Assistant Manager to help run the restaurant, ensure quality service and guide the team to success while growing as a people leader.

You’ll partner with the General Manager to uphold standards, train staff, manage opening/closing, and support daily operations with a focus on safety and guest satisfaction.

Minimum eligibility includes 18 years old, a high school diploma or GED preferred, and EPL SPECS certification or 2–4+ years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Certified on EPL SPECS positions or 2–4+ years of restaurant supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor labor costs through scheduling and retention initiatives.
• Oversee opening/closing procedures and security protocols.
• Conduct inventory checks and manage deliveries/records.
• Maintain QSC standards and health/safety compliance.
• Direct and prioritise team tasks during shifts and adjust staffing as needed.
• Address customer feedback promptly and escalate for resolution.
