Job summary

Orlando Health is seeking an Assistant Manager of Facilities to oversee daily operations, maintenance, and safety compliance across buildings, equipment, and grounds. You will lead upkeep, manage budgets, coordinate contractors, and ensure adherence to AHCA, TJC, and local regulations.

The role emphasizes supervising staff, coordinating projects, and maintaining high safety standards, with day-to-day responsibility in the absence of the Facilities Manager.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in healthcare administration, business administration or construction management required.
• High school diploma with trade/vocational training and one year of experience may substitute for the degree.
• Five years of facility maintenance experience, including three years in a supervisory capacity; knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical support to the engineering team by diagnosing, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to operation and repair of equipment, utilities, and building systems.
• Manages planning and implementation of corrective and preventive maintenance programs.
• Controls costs to ensure optimum operation of equipment and satisfactory results from maintenance work.
• Ensures timely completion of maintenance tasks and reports anomalies to engineering leadership.
• Oversees parts and procurement needs for the department using the organization's PO system or procurement cards.
• Manages engineering projects and day-to-day project duties as assigned.
• Coordinates contracted maintenance activities with vendors and supports reporting to leadership.
• Supports the Facilities Manager with day-to-day operations and acts in their absence.
• Communicates assignments and needs with managers and teams.
• Ensures staff and areas meet standards and regulatory requirements.
