The Atlantis Group in Newport News, VA is seeking an Assistant Manager to support the Centre Manager and lead a team of educators. You will ensure high-quality care across rooms and help execute the centre’s program with strong communication to families and staff.

This on-site role focuses on planning, documentation, rostering, parent engagement, and ensuring a safe, welcoming environment. It also offers professional development opportunities for staff and growth within the centre.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a team of educators and coordinating centre activities.
• Strong communication with families and staff.
• Knowledge of EYLF and NQS guidelines.
• Ability to manage administration and rostering tasks.

Responsabilités

• Plan, implement and evaluate programs using EYLF and NQS.
• Lead a team of Educators to ensure high-quality care.
• Engage children with developmentally appropriate activities.
• Motivate and support staff to uphold curriculum and documentation quality.
• Foster team collaboration and openness to feedback.
• Maintain a friendly, professional centre presence.
• Ensure safe, welcoming space for children, educators and parents.
• Support Centre Manager with admin tasks and compliance.
• Run the service in the Centre Manager's absence, including bookings, rosters, parent communication, and related duties.

Overview

Be the right hand of your Centre Manager and have a positive influence across various aspects of the Service. Take your first steps into Centre Leadership with our Assistant Manager roles. Work closely alongside our Centre Managers and have a positive influence across various aspects of the Service. Build on your leadership and personal communication skills whilst assisting to provide all necessary support to the wider team, families and children, as well as contributing to the professional development needs of team members.

Responsibilities

• Planning, implementing and evaluating programs through a strong understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Standards (NQS)
• Leading a team of Educators ensuring the highest quality of care is provided for children across all rooms
• Engaging with children through activities and experiences appropriate for age groups and stages of development
• Motivating and supporting a team of educators to meet our quality principles of curriculum and documentation
• Building and maintaining a team‑oriented approach by being open to different views, receptive to feedback and reflective upon best practice
• Bringing a friendly, mature and professional approach to everything you do
• Ensuring the centre provides a safe and welcoming space that children, educators and parents want to be in
• Supporting the Centre Manager in completing necessary administration tasks related to centre operations and compliance
• Running the service in the absence of the Centre Manager including bookings, rostering, parent communication and other relevant duties
