Job summary

Goodwill Industries of Kentucky in Elizabethtown is seeking a dedicated Retail Assistant Manager II to drive store sales and oversee daily operations. You will supervise hourly staff, assist with cash handling, donations processing, and ensure customer service excellence on the sales floor.

Job Purpose

The Retail Assistant Manager II will drive the store sales by inspecting, tagging/hanging textiles, unloading, price/stock donations, operate cash registers and bag items. The Retail Assistant Manager II will ensure that hourly retail employees perform and carry out required tasks. The Retail Assistant Manager II will also complete confidential documents in conjunction with the Retail Store Manager.

Essential Job Functions:

• Opens & closes the facility (key holder).
• Supervises the day-to-day job tasks of hourly retail employees, designated store operations, and resolution of elevated concerns in conjunction with the Store Manager.
• Train, coach, and support staff utilizing clear communication to ensure job tasks can meet or exceed production and sales goals.
• Ensures store stays clean, organized, and customer service expectations are met on the sales floor and donation drive-thru area. Ensures store is well-organized and well-stocked for maximum profit. Promotes a safety conscious mindset through the act of identifying, correcting, and communicating any safety issues to all staff.
• Assures stock rotation and sales are handled in accordance with the 1-Touch operating system. Ensures efficient, high quality hard goods and textile processing.
• Prepares, completes, and deposits daily cash deposits/reconciliations. Researches and resolves incorrect cash count information.
• Completes confidential payroll documents such as Form I-9 and direct deposit information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Requirements :

• Must displays goal-minded leadership skills.
• Displays the importance of tasks assigned utilizing calendars, to-do lists, filing systems, etc.
• Works a rotating schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Driver's preferred and must have valid insurance on any vehicle used for business purposes.

Education/Specialized Knowledge Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred.
• Must have retail experience; supervisory experience is preferred.
• Must be a current Retail Assistant Manager preforming all objective criteria.
• Must achieve 90% or higher score on 4 Assistant Certification for Excellence (ACE) written exams.
• Must achieve 90% or higher score on 4 Assistant Certification for Excellence (ACE) observation exams.

Physical and Work Condition Requirements:

• This job may have physical requirements that considered medium work. Medium work involves sitting for short periods of time; frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, reaching; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity, ability to frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Travel to other locations beyond the assigned work location is occasionally required.
