Job summary

Soma is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Charlotte, NC location to assist the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and delivering a seamless customer experience that reflects our culture of hospitality.

You will hire, coach, and develop associates, lead by example on the sales floor, manage inventory and daily replenishment, and ensure compliant, visually inspiring store operations.

Qualifications

• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the role

As an Assistant Manager, you will assist the Store Manager in leading the team, building community connections, and creating a seamless customer experience. This position helps foster a welcoming environment—for both associates and customers—that enables us to create memorable, personalized experiences that reflect our culture of hospitality.

• Build community connections through in-store company-sponsored events, philanthropy, and other initiatives.

You’ll bring to the role

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• 3 years of retail management experience preferred.
• Flexible availability — including nights, weekends, and holidays.
• A team player mindset with a high level of ownership and initiative.
• Ability to develop strong customer and peer relationships.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to bend, reach, stretch for products as well as maneuver around the sales floor and stockroom, operate the register, and lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
