The Whitaker Grp is seeking an Assistant Manager for our Charleston, SC store. This full-time, on-site role supports the Store Manager in daily operations, merchandising, inventory control, and upholding brand standards while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

You will coach team members, assist with scheduling, drive sales through product storytelling, and participate in community events, activations, and staff development aligned with our culture and values.

Role Description

The Assistant Manager role is a full-time, on-site position located in the Charleston, South Carolina Metropolitan Area. This role supports the Store Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, merchandising, inventory control, and maintaining store standards. The Assistant Manager leads and coaches team members, supports scheduling, and helps drive sales through exceptional customer experience and knowledgeable product storytelling. This position assists with community-based events, brand activations, and in-store experiences that align with The Whitaker Grp’s mission and values. The Assistant Manager also monitors performance metrics, helps resolve customer issues, and collaborates with leadership on process improvements and staff development.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail, hospitality, or customer-facing environments, with a focus on delivering high-quality service and building lasting customer relationships.
• Demonstrated leadership abilities, including team coaching, performance feedback, and support with staff scheduling and training.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain store standards, and support inventory accuracy.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and represent the brand’s culture and values.
• Comfort with basic retail technology and point-of-sale systems; ability to learn new tools and follow operational procedures.
• Attention to detail in merchandising, visual presentation, and store cleanliness to uphold brand guidelines and customer experience expectations.
• Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
• Previous supervisory or keyholder experience in retail or a related field is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent required, postsecondary education in business, marketing, or a related discipline is a plus.
• Interest in fashion, culture, and community-driven initiatives, with a commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory workplace practices.
