Job summary

National Beef is seeking an Assistant Maintenance Manager to lead engineers, consultants, and contractors on large capital projects across maintenance disciplines. You will ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and standards, while advancing safety, food safety, and risk management.

Qualifications include a BA/BS in Engineering (ME/AE/ChE) and 10+ years in engineering or maintenance, plus strong leadership, communication, and project-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ME/AE/ChE) or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years experience in Engineering or Industrial Maintenance.
• Formal training/certification in Project Management.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Auto-CAD and MS Project.
• Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, refrigeration, and control systems.
• Understanding of regulatory requirements in the food industry.
• Experience with meat production equipment and facility design.

Responsibilities

• Oversees engineers, consultants, and contractors for large domestic capital maintenance projects.
• Ensures projects stay on schedule, within scope, and on budget; improves safety, risk, and compliance.
• Develops engineering specifications, procedures, and policies across disciplines; conducts inspections and audits.
• Prepares plans, cost estimates, and reviews drawings for conformance.
• Prepares and distributes high-level project estimates and ROI reports for decisions.
• Manages capital budget information and cross-functions with safety, HR, sales, and ops.
• Leads cross-functional teams to implement new processes and programs for the business.
• Contributes to department strategies and global engineering best practices.
• Mentors staff and oversees training and development.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
