Job Title: Assistant Maintenance Manager

Work for a manufacturing company in New Brunswick as an Assistant Maintenance Manager:

This highly visible position requires you to supervise all aspects of the maintenance department, including personnel, machinery repair, preventive maintenance systems, etc. This is a hands-on role.

Hands-on experience in all phases of industrial plant maintenance in a manufacturing environment is required, and you should be prepared to take full responsibility when the manager is occupied. Knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and steam systems is a plus. This also includes maintaining the cleanliness of the building.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversees mechanics and porters
• Maintains the preventive maintenance programs
• Aids the maintenance team in performing diagnostic troubleshooting
• Monitors the quality of repairs
• Oversees building and physical plant repair issues
• Maintains porter schedule to maximize cleaning effectiveness of the plant and machinery
• Adheres to safety programs

Job Requirements:

Required Skills:

• Maintenance experience in an industrial setting required
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience in any setting
• Knowledge of industrial equipment fundamentals including electrical wiring, electrical components, pneumatic systems, steam systems, water systems, hydraulics, and building maintenance
• Ability to use basic hand tools properly and safely
• Experience responding in a time-sensitive environment with urgency
• Ability to obtain and maintain proper licensing for specific plant machines (e.g., boiler license)

Position reports to the Maintenance Manager.

PLC experience is a plus.
