Role Summary: The Assistant Maintenance Manager will be directly responsible for the Maintenance Leadership of a group of technicians assigned to assets in the factory, along with reviewing and defining the maintenance policies to be followed for each kind of asset. This includes all maintenance activities as preventive, predictive, corrective or new installations. Defining the needed resources (people, spare parts, contractors, systems) and planning as well as the supervision of processes, people and equipment, in order to carry out the defined maintenance tasks and achieving the better productivity rates in each section (OEEs, yields, production quantity), with the minimum cost and in compliance with the applicable legal and EH&S requirements, everything in a multi‑shift, 24/7 operation. Responsibility includes managing all maintenance requirements with an emphasis on safety, quality, cost, company policy. Accountable for executing business plans from department goals/objectives to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) and to achieve safety, quality, value and cost results.
Job Summary: This is a managerial position that reports to the central Maintenance Manager. The major internal customers that offer this position are the Production Department, QA, Sanitation, R&D, Office Administration and Distribution & Logistics. The major services provided to the internal customers are inspection, modification, & repair of food processing and packaging equipment, buildings & grounds, and handling support equipment to maintain production operations. Support systems include HVAC, fire suppression, steam generation and distribution as well as lighting and electrical infrastructure.
College degree preferred – B.S. industrial/mechanical/electrical engineering. Specific training in technical issues and in maintenance management systems (planning, software).
5-10 years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor and or Maintenance Manager in the food industry with a minimum of 4 years supervisory experience preferred. Strong technical background with experience in processing IQF & frozen food products. Leadership in process control and strong mechanical knowledge of processing, packaging and warehousing equipment. Strong knowledge of FDA/USDA regulations, particularly frozen regulations.
