Job summary

International Paper in Columbia, SC is hiring for an hourly, full-time press operator on 2nd or 3rd shift. You will assist with setting up, operating, and maintaining corrugated presses and related finishing equipment, ensuring safe, high-quality production.

The role requires basic math, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and willingness to work overtime, including Saturdays. Prior manufacturing experience and familiarity with the corrugated industry are a plus, and a stable attendance record is

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in manufacturing.
• Experience in corrugated industry preferred.
• Basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
• Ability to use a tape measure for measurements.
• Ability to stand for the full shift in a factory environment.
• Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Set up, maintain and operate corrugated manufacturing press machinery.
• Observe and monitor machine operations for malfunctions and adjustments.
• Feed, catch and stack corrugated sheets at feed/stack stations.
• Perform order setups including heads, plates and dies; uphold safety and quality.
• Ensure all orders meet specifications and special instructions.
• Assist with parts and light assembly as assigned by supervisors.

Hourly Full‑time. Overtime and weekends may be required - Monday to Friday.

2nd Shift (3:00 pm – 11:00 pm)

3rd Shift (11:00 pm – 7:00 am)

Job Description

• Assist the operator in setting up, maintaining and operating the assigned corrugated manufacturing press machine (including rotary die cutters, Flexo folder gluers, labeler, and folder gluer machinery).
• Observe and monitor machine operations to detect malfunctions and determine whether adjustments are needed.
• Feed, catch, and stack corrugated sheets at machine feed and stacking stations.
• Perform order setups, including setting heads, mounting print plates and dies, and maintaining safety, quality, and housekeeping standards.
• Ensure all orders are completed to specifications, including any special instructions.
• Complete other duties as assigned by managers, supervisors, or shift leaders, which may include parts and hand assembly.

Required Skills

• At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
• Experience in the corrugated industry is a plus.
• Basic computer skills, including basic arithmetic (additions, subtractions, multiplications, divisions) and use of a tape measure.
• Ability to work in an environment that is often hot in summer and cool in winter.
• Light to moderate lifting (up to 50 lbs).
• Ability to stand throughout the entire shift.
• Must be available to work overtime and on Saturdays as needed.
• Willingness to work in a hot summer and cold winter environment.
