Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking an Assistant Lead Facilitator to support the Department of Labor TAP program, assisting transitioning servicemembers and their families with employment readiness.

You will deliver standardized curriculum, manage reports, and coordinate facilitation assignments across hubs. The role requires high school diploma with 3 years of training experience or an associate degree, competency with MS Windows/Office, and the ability to train groups up to 50 people.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and 3 years of experience as a professional trainer, facilitator, and/or classroom instructor.
• OR an Associate’s degree.
• Experience as a classroom instructor.
• Experience which demonstrates understanding of private and public sector employment processes.
• Must be knowledgeable of the workplace, jobs, and requirement for entry into those jobs.
• Must demonstrate the ability to provide standardized training to groups with up to 50 participants.
• Familiar with MS Windows and Office.
• Effectively communicate with Military clients and Government representatives.
• Comfortable instructing and speaking in front of a group, be observant of others, possess the ability to professionally engage with a diverse audience.
• May require extended hours, including weekdays, weekends, and some holidays.
• Must have excellent time management skills, able to work independently and follow directions.
• Must respond to emergent facilitation assignments.

Responsibilities

• Teach and/or instruct military personnel transitioning to civilian professional and vocational occupations.
• Guide the transitioning military service members in identifying goals along with recognizing any employment or education gaps.
• Provide transitioning service members a comprehensive understanding of preparing for civilian employment, job searching, job application processes, networking, technical training opportunities, credentialing.
• Assist in preparing for civilian employment and participation in technical programs and schools.
• Conduct small and large group instruction on the job search process.
• Deliver standardized curriculum via in-person or virtual classrooms.
• Assist with ensuring completion and submission of classroom reports for their assigned Hub.
• Assist with maintaining training certifications and following standardized curriculum.
• Observe and mentor new facilitators during delivery of curriculum.
• Validate weekly and quarterly schedule of facilitation assignments.
• Communicate concerns to stakeholders and Lead Facilitator in a timely manner.
• Coordinate travel assignments and adhere to travel expense policies for their assigned Hub.
