Job summary

Aurora University is seeking an Assistant Men’s Lacrosse Coach to support student development and day-to-day operations of the athletics department. You will recruit, coach, and mentor student-athletes while adhering to NCAA and conference rules.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and at least four years of relevant experience, with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Evening/weekend work and travel are expected.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of four or more years of relevant experience.
  • Organizational skills and understanding of compliance standards and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with diverse constituents.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the head coach by carrying out assigned responsibilities in student-development, recruiting, and retention.
  • Understands and follows NCAA and conference rules and regulations; reports any alleged violations.
  • Coaches the position(s) or segments as directed by the head coach.
  • Plans, implements and evaluates practices; develops coaching philosophy.
  • Instructs student-athletes on academic expectations and monitors progress.
  • Instructs student-athletes on safety standards.
  • Recruits qualified student-athletes and coordinates on-campus visits.
  • Maintains biweekly academic meetings and provides lacrosse coaching to current athletes.
  • Attends athletic department and university meetings and handles confidential information.
