Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Assistant International Controller to join our fast-paced engineering firm. This role supports global finance operations, oversees accounting, currency affairs, transfer pricing, and international billing, with a heavy emphasis on complying with SOX and GAAP.

The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of experience in international finance, a CPA preferred, and strong leadership skills to collaborate across departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
• 8–10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience with international operations.
• Proficiency in FX, foreign currencies, transfer pricing, financial accounting, international billing, and inventory controls.
• Understanding of SOX, GAAP; leadership and collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations including FX, currencies, transfer pricing, billing, and inventory.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, SOX, and GAAP.
• Manage international finance activities: planning, budgeting, forecasting.
• Review financial data for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Steer budgets, forecasts, and variance reporting.
• Recommend improvements to systems and processes.
• Coordinate with auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with International Controller and senior leaders on reports.
• Contribute to strategic plans and financial decision making.

Job Details

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Permanent Assistant International Controller to join our fast-paced Engineering firm. This role is a key player in our international finance team, directly contributing to our financial strategy and operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with significant experience in corporate accounting, financial reporting, handling foreign currencies, transfer pricing, and international billing. This role requires deep understanding of international accounting standards, inventory controls, and financial accounting. A CPA certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department including FX, foreign currencies, transfer pricing, financial accounting, international billing, and inventory.
2. Ensuring company financial systems are in compliance with internal controls, SOX, and GAAP.
3. Overseeing and managing the company's international financial activities, including financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
4. Reviewing and analyzing financial data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with international accounting standards.
5. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget, financial forecasts, and report variances.
6. Making recommendations to improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions.
7. Collaborating with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
8. Working closely with the International Controller and other senior management to share reports and analysis findings.
9. Participating in the development of strategic plans, providing financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.

Qualifications

**** position requires about a week of quarterly travel

1. A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. An advanced degree or CPA certification is preferred.
2. A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with a focus on supporting international operations and working with multiple currencies.
3. Proficiency in FX, foreign currencies, transfer pricing, financial accounting, international billing, inventory, and inventory controls.
4. Solid understanding of SOX, GAAP, and international accounting.
5. Proven experience in managing a team and working collaboratively across different departments.
6. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to create financial forecasts and budgets.
7. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present financial information in a clear and concise manner.
8. High attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
9. Proficiency in using financial software and advanced knowledge of MS Excel.
