The DOI is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the country, dedicated to combating municipal corruption. It acts as an independent watchdog for NYC government, agencies, employees, vendors, and recipients of City funds.
Squad 10, part of DOI, oversees major City projects related to infrastructure, public facilities, water systems, transportation, and parks. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Inspector General to lead criminal investigations into fraud, corruption, conflicts of interest, waste, and mismanagement involving City agencies and contractors.
The AIG will conduct complex investigations with financial analysis, document review, and may oversee other investigators. The role requires independence, strong analytical skills, and the ability to produce detailed reports.
Applicants will undergo fingerprinting, background checks, and credit review as part of the process. NYC residency is required within 90 days of appointment, with some exceptions for certain City employees.
