Job Description
- Reports To:Housekeeping Manager
- Supervises:Housekeeping Supervisors, Room Inspectors, Housekeeping Team as required
- General Purpose:AssiststheHousekeeping Managerin supervisingthe daily operations of the housekeeping staff, promoting a safe environment and quality serviceto achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets, using minimal expenses to maximize profits.
- SpecificResponsibilities:
- Supervise the housekeeping employees, motivate theteam throughtraining, development, empowerment, coaching,and counseling.
- Recommend discipline and termination, as appropriate.
- Supervise and inspect the daily cleaning of the guest rooms, public areas, and back ofhouse.
- Ensure compliance with accident/loss preventive programs.
- Achievea high level of cleanlinessand guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and report on expenses (payroll and supplies) in an effort to control cost, while ensuring adequate staff, and supplies are on hand to provide top quality service.
- Respond to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction.
- Work with the front desk staff tohelp resolve guest issues that arise.
- Refer and follow-up on maintenance issues/problems with Engineering to protect hotelassetsand to ensure a safeand accident free environment for guest and employees.
- Log items into the Lost and Found and answer inquiriesfromguests to meet overall lost & foundsatisfaction.
- Implement emergency training and procedures to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel’s guests, staff andproperty.
- AssistHousekeeping Managermonitorsthe performance of roominspectors to ensure rooms are being cleaned and inspected to 21c standards.
- Communicate within all departments of thehotel.
- Responsible forlearning and being efficient usingthe 21c checkbook.This involves invoicing, calling suppliers, budgeting, researching, and working with the accounting department.
- Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned. Participate in hotel committees and task force assignments.
- Be able to manage the department in absence of the Housekeeping Manager
- Scheduled days and times may vary based on needs.
- Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
Qualifications
- Athorough knowledge of theHousekeepingfield.
- Ademonstratedability todetermineacourse of action based onknowledge of workplace policies and procedures
- Supervision/managementexperience and skills.
- Ability to compilefacts and figures.
- Ability to meet andmaintainbudget.
- Must be able to open, close, or work any shift duringspecial events.
- Must be computer literate
- Education/Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience:
- Two to three full years of employment in a related position with this company or another organization.
