Job summary

Qualifications

• Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
• Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport.
• The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and keep exploring new theories.
• Must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

• Assists athletic director and principal in scheduling and coordinating sport events.
• Supervises and coordinates high school and middle school coaches.
• Instructs athletes in fundamental skills, strategy and conditioning for success.
• Promotes character development, self-discipline, self-confidence and pride in student athletes.
• Maintains discipline and handles grievances; ensures safety and compliance with policies.
• Organizes staff conferences, clinics, and staff meetings; promotes staff development.
• Directs student managers, assistants and statisticians; analyzes staff effectiveness.
