Job summary

PureGym US in New York, NY is seeking an Assistant Gym Manager to help the Gym Manager run day-to-day operations and build a great place to work and train for the team and members. This full-time role involves supporting member experience, team development, and helping onboard new staff.

Responsibilities include delivering excellent service, recruiting and developing staff, and maintaining cleanliness and safety across the club. CPR/AED certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership ability in a fitness, leisure, hospitality or retail setting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiastic, energetic, friendly and personable.
• Passionate, intelligent and knowledgeable regarding the fitness industry.
• Ability to successfully obtain CPR/AED certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an excellent member experience in the club through a constant focus on service and standards, alongside the Gym Manager.
• Assist the Gym Manager in recruitment of Personal Trainers and Gym Floor Associates and onboard all new team members.
• Interview, hire and develop all new members of the team to ensure they have a great onboarding experience.
• Maintain levels for cleanliness and organization of all areas in the gym.
• Ensure the safety of Members, Guests and Team at all times.
