Job summary

Cateechee Golf Club in Hartwell, GA is seeking an Assistant Golf Professional to support daily golf operations and Pro Shop activities. The role focuses on enhancing member and guest experiences, merchandising, and staff development.

The position requires PGA Level 1/PGM education, strong computer skills, and experience in golf instruction, with 1–2 years of management experience. PGA Genius and GHIN familiarity are preferred.

Qualifications

• PGA Associate minimum Level 1 PGA/PGM education.
• Previous experience with a golf facility operation.
• Proficient in Word, Excel and POS systems.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Experience in Golf Instruction including Jr. Program and personal play.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily golf operations and assist Pro Shop activities.
• Assist in staff training and supervision.
• Help manage golf shop retail operations and merchandising.
• Support tournament operations for member and external events.
• Maintain golf car fleet and practice facility standards.
• Assist with budgeting, round counts, and records.

Overview

Cateechee Golf Club is a semi-private club located in Hartwell, GA. The Assistant Golf Professional supports daily golf operations at the club. This position assists Pro Shop activities and coordinates golf-related services to enhance the member and guest experience. The role is dedicated to promoting the game of golf while ensuring operations align with company policies and operational standards. It requires a proactive approach to staff training and development, effective merchandising strategies, and exceptional customer service to foster a welcoming and engaging environment for members and guests.

Reporting structure: Reports to the Head Golf Professional.

Experience Required

• PGA Associate minimum of Level 1 PGA/PGM education
• Previous experience with a golf facility operation.
• Good computer skills to include experience in Word, Excel, and POS.
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• Experience in Golf Instruction to include Jr. Program and personal play.
• 1-2 years management experience.
• Must have a driver's license.

Essential Responsibilities

• Ensures the enjoyment of golf for the Membership and our guests.
• Assists in overseeing the daily operations.
• Assists with training of new and existing staff.
• Assists in managing outside golf operations staff.
• Ensures golf car fleet is maintained.
• Ensures the practice facility is maintained.
• Assists in managing golf shop retail staff.Assists in the golf shop merchandise purchasing.
• Ensures all merchandise levels are maintained.
• Ensures golf shop is kept clean and organized.
• Works with daily, monthly, and annual financial records.
• Assists with daily, monthly, and annual round counts and budgeting.
• Maintains levels of supplies for operation.
• Enforces rules of golf and rules of Cateechee Golf Club.
• Assists with tournament operations of all member events as well as outside events.
