Job summary

Rolling Hills Country Club seeks an Assistant Golf Professional to support the Head Professional and Director of Golf, overseeing the Golf Shop, practice facilities, and tournaments.

The role emphasizes exceptional service, member engagement, and teamwork, with supervision of staff, reservations, and merchandise. Compensation includes benefits, meals, and opportunities for PGA education reimbursements.

Qualifications

• Two years of private club experience preferred.
• Experience running tournaments and golf events preferred.
• Experience teaching both one-on-one and group lessons.
• Strong knowledge of golf operations, rules, tournament administration, and member services.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and develop Golf Shop Assistants and Golf Outside Services staff that desire to grow.
• Monitor guest experiences and take appropriate actions to ensure outstanding customer service.
• Order merchandise for sale in the Golf Shop, in conjunction with the Head Professional.
• Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course.
• Assist in the coordinating of individual, group, and tournament play, as directed by the Head Professional.
• Work closely with the Starter to monitor all aspects of play, including starting, monitoring pace of play, safety on the course, and golf course markings.
• Assist in reconciliation of Accounts Receivable charges to daily register at the closing of each day.
• Monitor the upkeep of the Golf Shop, making sure it is kept neat and clean at all times.
• Responsible for monthly stock taking, receiving, and pricing merchandise.
• Maintain files, follow-up on delegated tasks, and manage time well.
• Maintain professional appearance and set example for all staff.
• Be active in Local section events, schedule permitting, with Head Professional approval.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Professional and/or Director of Golf.
