Job summary

Willow Tree Recruiting in Washington, DC seeks an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in overseeing all restaurant operations, delivering exceptional guest experiences, and guiding a high-performing front-of-house team.

You will coordinate with culinary leadership, manage staff scheduling and payroll, ensure health and safety compliance, analyze sales and guest feedback to improve profitability, and foster an energetic, guest-centric culture aligned with the brand.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as an Assistant General Manager with a $4M+ upscale or fine dining restaurant.
• Must be an independent worker and possess proven management skills.
• Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Energetic, detail oriented, and a passion for hospitality.
• Must be quick to learn, flexible, and comfortable adapting in a fast-changing environment.
• Able to pivot swiftly and embrace new challenges with a learning mindset.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations with a strong focus on providing exceptional guest experiences
• Lead, coach, and inspire front of house team to maintain high service standards
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to ensure seamless coordination between kitchen and service teams
• Manage staff scheduling, shift coverage, and payroll compliance to meet labor cost targets
• Enforce health, safety, and sanitation regulations to ensure compliance with local and state codes
• Handle guest feedback with professionalism, resolving complaints and ensuring repeat patronage
• Analyze performance metrics such as sales reports, labor percentages, and customer satisfaction data to improve efficiency and profitability
• Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the restaurant’s brand values
