The Polo Room Palm Beach is seeking an dynamic Assistant General Manager to lead daily operations at our new upscale restaurant in the Palm Beach/West Palm Beach area. You will oversee staff, service standards, and guest experiences while driving sales and maintaining high morale.

The ideal AGM brings strong leadership, culinary passion, and proven restaurant management experience to ensure exceptional dining experiences in a high-volume environment.

Qualifications

Job Summary

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to lead our new restaurant located in Palm Beach / West Palm Beach area. The AGM will oversee daily operations, ensure exceptional customer service, and support the management team in delivering a memorable dining experience. This position is responsible for overseeing the restaurant operations focusing on staff, service standards. By ensuring positive guest experiences and positive employee morale, the position plays a key role in driving sales growth.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent people skills, a passion for culinary excellence, and the ability to manage a high-volume upscale restaurant environment.

Duties

• Maintain high standards of customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally
• Support marketing efforts to promote the restaurant's upscale dining experience
• Work closely with the management team to ensure excellent guest experience.
• Maintain consistent floor presence to monitor flow of service and upholding standards and following SOPs
• Supervise and train staff to ensure adherence to service standards, food safety, and cleanliness protocols
• Lead pre-shift service meetings to focus on service points and strive to improve FOH performance every day.
• Perform shift opening and closing duties.
• Ensure cleanliness of restaurant bar, w/c & storage areas, and compliance with all DOH regulations.
• Assist with the maintenance and inventory of equipment including but not limited to: smallwares, paper goods & chemicals.
• Oversee POS systems such as TOAST for accurate cash handling and sales reporting
• Assist with POS System updates and maintenance – adding new menu items, adding new employees.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and sanitation
• Implement food, beverage and service training, scheduling, and supervision of department staff in accordance with company policies and standards.

• Proven experience in food service management
• Strong leadership skills with supervising experience in hospitality or restaurant settings
• Proficiency in POS systems such as TOAST, cash handling expertise required
• Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction
• Experience with staff training & development, team management, and shift supervision
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Leadership qualities that inspire teamwork and operational excellence
• Previous experience in restaurant management or assistant manager roles within the food industry is highly desirable
• Wine Certification a plus
