Applegreen USA is seeking an Assistant General Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our travel plazas. This entry-level management path offers hands-on leadership development and exposure to high-volume hospitality environments.

You’ll lead a team, deliver performance feedback, ensure brand standards, manage cash and inventory, and help drive guest satisfaction across a fast-paced, customer‑centric operation.

Qualifications

• Two years in quick-service or similar management operations.
• Strong leadership and ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent customer service with a positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal/communication skills with business acumen.
• Willingness to lift or push objects over 30 lbs.
• Flexible and open work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager to ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.
• Learn important management skills and exercise judgment.
• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork and communicate objectives.
• Supervise non-management staff, assign work and coach shift supervisors.
• Perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate staff, especially during low morale.
• Demonstrate leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion and ensure policies are followed.
• Maintain brand standards and restaurant cleanliness and appearance.
• Accurately manage cash and process daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues and build long-term relationships.
• Ensure inventory data is accurate through spot counts and checks.

What You’ll Do

The Assistant General Manager helps the General Manager to ensure day‑to‑day business operations run smoothly. This position provides an opportunity for entry‑level managers to learn important management skills and practice judgment and discretion.

Role Priorities And Responsibilities

• Confidently deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise non‑management associates, assign work, focus on store performance, coach, and develop shift supervisors.
• Competently perform duties in the absence of the General Manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensure company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintain awareness of all applicable brand standards and procedures to maximize brand, landlord, and labor relations.
• Maintain the restaurant’s cleanliness, appearance, and brand standards.
• Accurately manage cash and process daily reports as directed.
• Address customer needs, resolve issues, and build positive, long‑term relationships.
• Ensure inventory data is accurate through spot counts and checks.

Skills, Experience And Educational Requirements
