Job summary

CAVA is seeking an Assistant General Manager in Newington, CT to lead restaurant operations with the General Manager and Area Leader, driving schedules, forecasting, labor, and inventory while maintaining our standards. You will develop hourly Team Members, train and coach, and provide performance feedback to ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.

This role requires flexibility, weekend work, and some travel as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of supervisory or management experience in restaurant or hospitality.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and improve restaurant performance.
• Ability to manage budgeting and cost control.
• Knowledge of legal, health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
• Willing to work flexible hours including nights and weekends; travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist the General Manager in daily restaurant operations.
• Ensure adherence to standards for food quality, service, and cleanliness.
• Oversee inventory management, supply ordering, and cost control.
• Supervise and support Team Members with training and feedback.
• Assist with scheduling and staffing.
• Support with addressing Team Member issues and conflicts.
• Enhance guest experience by upholding high service standards.
• Lead by example in customer service and motivate the team.
• Assist with financial reporting and performance analysis.
• Assist with maintaining records and cash handling procedures.
• Support food safety training and procedures.
• Assist with administrative tasks like inventory and records.
• Participate in special projects to drive restaurant success.
