Job summary

José Andrés Group in Washington, DC seeks an Assistant General Manager to partner with the General Manager to deliver flawless daily operations and an exceptional guest experience. This hands‑on leader develops supervisors and hourly teams, stewards cost controls, and ensures compliance across floor operations, reservations, and events.

The AGM role focuses on maintaining JAG standards, leading service, and driving growth for a vibrant hospitality group with a strong culture of excellence.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years FOH leadership in upscale/casual‑fine or fine dining.
• Proven success in leading busy floor teams with costs and compliance.
• Experience with reservations and POS platforms; scheduling tools.
• Ability to coach and develop supervisors and hourly staff.
• Excellent communication and conflict‑resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead floor operations to service standards across dayparts and events.
• Uphold SOPs, identify gaps, and propose improvements.
• Oversee opening/closing, cash handling, reservations, and flow.
• Ensure facility readiness, safety, and labor compliance.
• Drive sales via reservations strategy, pacing, upselling, and promotions.
• Partner on inventory, COGS, and waste reduction with relevant teams.
