Job summary

Pret US is seeking an Assistant General Manager in New York, NY to lead shop performance, staffing, food production, and guest service in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting, ensuring we consistently deliver warm, fast, personal hospitality.

You will coach and develop team members, own daily operations on the floor, manage scheduling and results, uphold Pret’s standards, and relentlessly seek improvements in guest experience and efficiency.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of management experience in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments.
• Experience supporting operational performance and service standards in high-volume settings.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• NYC Food Handlers Card.
• Available to work in person +50 hours.
• Led a team of greater than 20 employees.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 pounds; work in hot/cold environments; maintain safety.

Responsibilities

• Own Full Shop Performance: Drive growth and operational efficiency; analyze trends and take decisive action; close performance gaps.
• Build and Develop High-Performing Teams: Recruit, hire, onboard, and develop shop leaders and team members; foster accountability and teamwork.
• Deliver Exceptional Guest Experience: Model hospitality; create warm, fast, personal service; coach in real time; resolve guest concerns.
• Operational Excellence and Compliance: Ensure adherence to recipes, food safety, and health regulations; manage waste and production forecasting; maintain cleanliness.
