Job summary

Chandler Park Golf Course in Detroit, MI is seeking a Full-Time Assistant General Manager to help direct all aspects of the operation under Troon’s guidance. The role focuses on managing daily operations, staff performance, and guest satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 1–3 years in golf, a four-year business degree, and strong organizational and communication skills to lead a service-oriented team at a premier course.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree (business related) is required.
• 1-3 years’ experience in the golf industry.
• PGA Membership or PGA registered apprentice in good standing.
• Experience in total golf facility management and ability to run a professional, high quality operation.
• Proficient in Excel, Access, Word; working knowledge of club accounting.

Responsibilities

• Manages the office area to ensure effective telephone and mail communications.
• Manages all aspects of the club in the absence of the general manager.
• Assists in hiring, developing and supervising all key management employees.
• Process customer reservations for guests of the golf course.
• Produce daily reports related to rounds, sales, etc.
• Assist in coordinating play schedules as directed by golf professionals.
• Work with staff to monitor pace of play, course safety, and course markings.
• Provide customer service to arriving guests and expedite check-in.
• Assist in cash reconciliation and daily closing procedures.
• Oversee care and maintenance of the club's assets and facilities.
• Assist in managing Pro-Shop operations and staff.
• Maintain positive relationships with board, golfers, guests, employees, community and industry.
