We’re seeking a dynamic Assistant General Manager to help lead a premier, strategically located hotel in the Lakeland-Winter Haven Area. Compensation Package:
$60,000–$65,000 (Commensurate with experience) + Health Insurance, 401(k) with match, Mileage Reimbursement, & PTO! Relocation expenses will be provided on a case-by-case basis.
Requirements
- College degree in Hospitality Management or a business field, or a minimum of 3 to 5 years of hotel supervisory or management experience.
- Proven track record in hotel operational leadership with a strong ability to manage, motivate, train, and direct staff.
- Solid understanding of hotel operations, guest services, financial management, labor costs, cash handling, and property-level expenses.
- Technical expertise in front desk operations, guest registration, reservations, and night audit procedures.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills with an enthusiastic, outgoing personality.
- Proficiency in property management systems, daily/monthly audits, and software such as MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of hotel technical and maintenance aspects with a keen eye for detail and quality standards.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings, late evenings, weekends, and holidays based on hotel occupancy and special events.
- Ability to meet physical requirements of a normal office/hotel environment, including sitting, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations across departments, acting as Manager on Duty (MOD) and stepping in for the GM when needed.
- Direct, hire, train, schedule, and supervise front desk, guest services, and night audit team members.
- Resolve guest issues promptly and professionally to consistently exceed expectations.
- Work closely with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, and Maintenance departments to maintain clear communication regarding guest needs and room availability.
- Monitor labor costs, departmental expenses, purchase orders, invoices, and daily time reports.
- Enforce and maintain cash handling procedures, bank deposits, guest security, and safety standards.
- Review daily audit reports, correct discrepancies, and process end-of-month financial reports.
- Inspect rooms and public areas daily to ensure exceptional cleanliness, safety, and physical quality standards.
- Conduct regular department staff meetings to maintain clear communication across all operational shifts.
- Cover front desk, night audit, or operational shifts as needed based on occupancy and staffing needs.
